The object of this research is to understand global grouper farming, by collecting biological and economical data from t providing and supplying side of the industry. Expect to provide necessary information for grouper farming development in Taiwan.
In the result, the grouper can fully breeding are 9 species in the world, but those species with economics efficiency in Taiwan only are Epinephelus malabaricus, E. coioides, E. lanceolatus, E. fuscoguttatus and Cromileptes altivelis etc.. Recently, the farmers actively cultured a new species E. tukula, which breeding conditions are similar E. malabaricus, E. coioides, and will replace the E. malabaricus, E. coioides to be the main culturing grouper specie. Base on the market price and market potential analysis, due to the incomplete information and transportation cost, lead to one multiply price difference from producer to marketing. From 2000 to 2007, the global groper fishery production increased each year 2% to 15%, and from 2003 the grouper aquaculture production was getting increase 4% to 19%. The result shows the demand more then supply in grouper market. Taiwan grouper aquaculture restricted land and water, the grouper production keeps on more then 10,000 tons. For the huge market demand, therefore, Taiwan grouper aquaculture should guidance and assistance the producers who cultured lower value groupers, it will promote the aquaculture fishery economics efficiency. |
